CNRS's Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes (IRHT) is dedicated to basic research on medieval manuscripts and ancient printed matter. The history of texts written in the main cultural languages ​​of the Mediterranean rim is dealt with in all its aspects: writing and decoration, material culture, textual content, iconography, distribution and reception.
